The Chairman, Board of Directors, Management and staff of Women and Child Support Organization (WOCSO) wish to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to this website, the new site features a visually appealing design integrated into a user friendly interface making it easy for you to navigate the site. The 21st century is characterised by technological advancement. It is therefore extremely difficult for any organisation, whether public or private, to survive without a website, if it is to remain current, build brand equity and maintain a competitive advantage. To this end, our improved web presence is designed to assist in further promoting the organisation’s mandate and achievements through the timely delivery of information.

Women and Child Support Organization (WOCSO) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization. WOCSO’s establishment was motivated by the despair and devastation suffered by Somali women and children as victims of violence and exploitation in the situation of catastrophic natural conditions or war and security situation.

It has been founded in 7th June, 2007 by a future focused group of a voluntary, experience and professional Somali youth in their endeavor in supporting women, children, youth and vulnerable groups. WOCSO’s main office is in Mogadishu and mainly works in Benadir, Middle Shabelle and Lower Shabelle regions.

WOCSO’s Main objective is to protect women and children from exploitation and violence, provides nutritious food and shelter, sets up temporary classrooms and reduces the spread of disease through improved hygiene, safe water and immunization.

WOCSO has had a significant experience of service delivery since 2007 in the areas of protection, education, water and sanitation, livelihood, agriculture, and shelter, we pride ourselves with the overwhelming support and acceptance we get from the community and all stakeholders. We are guided by the principles of accountability, collective responsibility, transparency, equity and social justice among others as evident in the profile.
